Residents can find out more about a new high-profile campaign to promote Long Eaton’s worldwide reputation as a centre of excellence for its upholstery industry when the next Long Eaton and South Community Forum is held this month.
A Long Eaton Chamber of Trade representative will give details of the campaign at the Forum, which is being held at Long Eaton Town Hall on Tuesday 23 June at 7pm.
The Chamber is leading the drive to develop a brand for the town as the ‘UK Centre of Quality Upholstery.’
The Forum will also see Melissa Roberts, the council’s Assistant Economic Development Officer, give the latest update on the proposed changes to the layout of the eastern section of Long Eaton High Street following concerns by some residents over vehicle access arrangements.
Councillor Carol Hart, Erewash Borough Council’s Deputy Leader and Lead Member for Community Engagement, says:
We know there is a lot of interest in the two topics that we have highlighted and we look forward to local residents joining us for what will be an enjoyable and informal meeting.
The Forum will also give residents the opportunity to put general questions to officers from Derbyshire County Council, Derbyshire Constabulary and Erewash Borough Council.
Anyone unable to attend can email or telephone the council’s Community Engagement Officer Colin Handley in advance of the meeting with any questions they may have and they will be raised on the evening. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 0115 907 2244.
