Residents will be able to find out what progress there has been on the high speed rail link and hear what the next steps will be at the next Long Eaton and South Community Forum on Thursday 18 February.
The Forum will be held at Long Eaton Town Hall and will start at 7pm and is open to all residents.
Two representatives from HS2 Ltd will be at the forum and will talk about the national picture of the scheme as well as explaining the proposals for the Erewash area, timelines and how people can get involved – while there will also be an opportunity for residents to ask questions.
Councillor Carol Hart, Erewash Borough Council’s Deputy Leader and Lead Member for Community Engagement, says:
“This will be an opportunity for residents to find out more information about HS2 and, most importantly, to hear how we are working hard alongside our partners to ensure that we get the best outcome for our residents and the maximum benefits for the area.”
Residents will also be able to hear about the council’s key priorities over the next four years through its Corporate Plan and there will be a presentation outlining what the council’s financial position is for 2016/17 and subsequent years.
There will be an opportunity to put general questions to officers from Derbyshire County Council, Derbyshire Constabulary and Erewash Borough Council.
Anyone unable to attend can email or telephone the council’s Community Engagement Officer Colin Handley in advance of the meeting with any questions they may have and they will be raised on the evening. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 0115 907 2244.
