Community and voluntary groups in Erewash are being urged to apply for grants of up to £2,000 to help them with their work.
There are just under four weeks left to the latest deadline to apply to Erewash Borough Council’s Small Grants scheme, with applications to be submitted by 5.30pm on Monday 14 November.
The council has helped hundreds of groups over the last few years through the grants scheme and is still keen to hear from more groups – however large or small – that could use a small grant for specific projects that help people living in the borough.
Over 25 community and voluntary groups have already been successful this year, winning a share of over £31,000.
Councillor Carol Hart, Erewash Borough Council’s Deputy Leader and Lead Member for Community Engagement, says:
“We want to hear from groups of all kinds – our small grants are here to help you. We know there are many organisations out there carrying out good work in our borough, helping residents of all ages and in all kinds of ways.
“Anyone involved with local community groups or charities can go along to our free valuable and informative Festival of Funding events, the perfect one-stop platform to find out what is on offer and get useful advice ahead of the deadline for applications. We look forward to welcoming everyone at these events.”
Full details of the scheme and how to apply for a grant are available at www.erewash.gov.uk – click on the ‘Community and Living’ tab and the link to ‘Grants’. Anyone needing help to fill in the application can contact the council’s Community Engagement Officer, Colin Handley via email firstname.lastname@example.org or on 0115 907 2244, extension 3575.
Alternatively, applicants are invited to attend Festival of Funding events hosted by the council. These events will provide information and advice about the council’s Community Grant scheme and other funding which might be available to organisations.
The dates and times for the Festival of Funding events are:-
• 2pm – 5pm Tuesday 25 October 2016 in the Committee Room, Ilkeston Town Hall, Wharncliffe Road, Ilkeston, DE7 5RP;
• 2pm – 5pm Thursday 27 October 2016 in the Committee Room, Long Eaton Town Hall, Derby Road, Long Eaton, NG10 1HU.
Between 3pm and 4pm applicants can book ten minute one-to-one sessions with the council’s Community Engagement Officer. Booking is essential as places are limited – email email@example.com or telephone 0115 907 2244 extension 3575.
Subject to funding remaining available, the final ‘rolling’ deadline for the financial year 2016/17 will be Monday 9 January 2017 at 5.30pm.
